Music captures our hearts that it transpires beyond what we can only hear. It touches our soul by making us feel and appreciate the harmonious language of our stories. As long as our life is entangled with the strings of melodies attached in our hearts, we can orchestrate the grandiose music that we can offer to inspire one another.

PUP Theater’s spotlight illuminated the stage and presented to us another year of brilliance of the Tatak Bagong Himig Choral Festival entitled “Harmonify: Timeless Hits on Track.” For this year’s edition, we have been presented with the lineup of songs that carries the imprints of our past, present, and future.

These timeless musical pieces are of a different era from every timeline in our rich history, music that has been a significant medium of tales and triumphs of us people through the test of our times. Also, as choral music ages like a fine wine, the myriad voices of our narratives will continuously be heard and will always be sounding for our future generations.

PUP Bagong Himig Serenata, Cambiare Cola Voce, Intervoices Chorale, Light of the Nation Singers, RTU GAAI Singers, & Sampaguita Chorale performed retro classics like Magsayawan by VST Co., the modern eargasm “Araw-Araw” by Ben & Ben, a version of “Umagang Kay Ganda” originally sung by Ray-An Fuentes & Tillie Moreno, just to name a few.
