Manulife Philippines has announced the appointment of Ganesh Murugesan as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), strengthening the company’s leadership as it continues to advance technology, digital transformation, and customer-focused innovation. Murugesan will also join the company’s Executive Committee.
Murugesan brings nearly 25 years of professional experience in technology and financial services. Before taking on his new role, he served as Head of Delivery for Manulife Philippines and was part of Manulife’s Regional Technology team in Hong Kong for eight years.
During his tenure, Murugesan played an important role in strengthening technology delivery capabilities and leading major transformation initiatives across the region. His experience includes developing and delivering technology solutions designed to support distribution growth, improve operations, and enhance customer experiences across insurance businesses in Asia.
According to Rahul Hora, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines, Murugesan’s extensive regional experience and strong execution track record will help the company further strengthen its technology capabilities and transformation efforts.
As CIO, Murugesan is expected to help align Manulife Philippines’ technology priorities more closely with its business goals. His leadership will focus on delivering more seamless, efficient, and customer-centered solutions while supporting the company’s ambition to become the #1 choice for Filipino customers.
Murugesan also highlighted the importance of technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation in driving the company’s future growth. He plans to work closely with teams across Manulife Philippines to strengthen technology capabilities, improve customer and distributor experiences, increase speed to market, and support the organization’s long-term growth objectives.
